Urbanization and globalization is on the growing scale. In about 20 years down the line, automotive sector is expecting to get autonomous vehicles. On-going developments in various disciplines of Automobile industry, is making automobiles highly intelligent and automated day by day, making them smarter, safer, cleaner and more efficient in its performance. Fully automated vehicles are increasingly likely prospects. It is believed to revolutionise road transport, public safety and our everyday environment

As the cities are rapidly growing along with considerable increase in automobile customers, Smart parking technology has been integrated in to the society, where cars park themselves thus enhancing the driving experience. So, for better improvement and implementation of such technologies, study on driver behavior and driving style marks the important stage that decides the acceptance of such technologies into our day-to-day life and making the traffic more smarter. Naturally, better testing facilities have to be created in order to test the ideas and tune them as required keeping in mind the factors like: ease of use, enhancing driving style and performance, increasing safety, gaining user trust on automated control systems etc.

Main objective of this research is to perform thorough study and research of over 25+ projects carried out under European Commission by various consortiums that include major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and evaluate them on the basis of important criteria based on the requirements pledged by ITS team, European Commission. From this, an evaluation form was prepared with grades and ratings as well as prioritized based on the high scores. Approach is taking positives of one project (based on the high scores under respective criteria) and merge with another project that can overcome their limitations. In short, projects that lack basic criteria can merge with those who have scored better and take their expertise to improve the outcomes of both the projects.

To carry out such evaluation, intensive interviews were conducted with lot of project members to get more knowledge on project performance, challenges during implementation, history and status of the projects.  Interviews also gave us access to some of the confidential information about the project which have also been considered for the evaluation. The information related to "SMART DRIVING, PARKING TESTING & TRAFFIC" are written on this page based on the prior consent from the respective project members.

With good six months of enormous work and research, results are categorized and compiled on to this website for readers to access the conclusions we derived.
